ALEX BAUMANN
- Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on April 21, 1964
- Moved to Canada when he was 5 years old.
- By the time he was seventeen, Baumann owned 38 Canadian swimming records and the world record in the 200-metre Individual Medley.
- Took a scholarship at the University of Indiana to train with their legendary coach.
- Flag bearer at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles
- Won a gold medal in the 400 I.M. (Canada's first since 1912) and the 200 I.M.
- Is married to Tracy Taggart, an Australian swimmer whom he met at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. They have 2 children.

- At the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia, she was Canada's flag bearer.
- In the province of New Brunswick, there is an annual swim meet named after her.
- Competed in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics.
- At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, she won the silver medal in the 200 meter Individual Medley.

MARK TEWSKBURY
- Born February 7, 1968 in Calgary Alberta.
- Won a silver medal for the relay in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.
- Going into the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, Tewksbury was ranked fourth in the world in the 100m backstroke, and he was not favoured to win a medal.
- Despite his ranking, he won gold in the 100m backstroke, the first gold since the 1984 boycotted Olympics.
- He also won a silver medal as part of Canada's relay team in these Olympic Games.
- In December 1998, 6 years after his retirement from swimming, Tewksbury came out as an openly gay man. He was the first Canadian athlete to go public about his sexuality.
- He has since won many awards for being a motivational speaker, an author, and an outstanding athlete.
